travel to Sassari

Sardinia is a big island in the middle of central Mediterranean - a beautyful place to be, but there are comparatively much less options to get here as if you were in continental Europe, so:

by plane:
the nearest airport 'Riviera del Corallo' is close to Alghero 30 km from Sassari, with daily flights to/from several Italian and European cities. From the Alghero airport, you can get to Sassari by train (each 30' between 6:30-21:00) after getting to the Alghero train station by shuttle/taxi (5 km from the airport). The other nearest airport is 'Costa Smeralda' close to Olbia, about 100 km from Sassari, with many more daily flights from/to several european cities. From the Olbia airport you can get to Sassari by bus directly from the airport (frequency to be checked on site!)

by ship: Sassari can be reached by sailing to Porto Torres (20 km from Sassari). There are links from Genova  (daily), Marseille and Barcelona. Note that the frequency of these last two connections should be checked as a reduction of courses normally occurs at the end of the summer.
